expect them and do i have to be here to sign or will they just drop it off. the package has got envelope stuffing materials if that makes any difference

Most likley they will drop the parcel off and knock on your door. Unless it was stated in the delivery notices that it was a piece of certified mail then no you will not have to sign for it. Also, has it been 10 days including saturdays and sundays? If so, subtract those days and that will tell you how many days you have been waiting.
Reply:You should have a tracking number for your parcel. Contact UPS , give them the tracking number and ask where it is. It should be there today.
Reply:It usually depends on who is sending the package whether or not they will leave it or not. The sender is the one who requests whether they want you to sign for it or not. If you happen to miss them though they will leave you a notice and you can go pick it up that evening. As for what time of day they will be there, it depends on their route. When I have things delivered they always come at around 12:00 PM because that is when they are in this neighborhood.
